Northwestern University · Mechanical Engineering BS/MS · Aerospace Concentration
Pursuing a combined bachelor's and master's in Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern with an Aerospace Concentration. My work spans CFD and aerodynamics, structural and machine design, dynamics and vibrations, and hands-on manufacturing — from transient F1 wing CFD and Mars rover descent optimization to in-house fiberglass rocket airframes and a gearbox sized down to the last bearing.
Engineering Work
A few of thirteen. Click any project for full details, images, and analysis.
01
Transient sliding-mesh CFD comparing a conventional DRS flap against Ferrari's 230° "Macarena" mechanism — revealing an aerodynamic airbrake spike invisible to steady-state analysis alone.
02
Constrained nonlinear optimization of entry, descent, and landing fuel consumption across normal and modified atmospheric conditions using COBYLA and SLSQP in Python.
04 — NUStars · NASA Student Launch
In-house manufactured fiberglass airframe and Von Karman nose cone through six vacuum-bagged layup iterations, validated with ANSYS FEA and CFD.
08
Full AGMA-based design of a 70 kW two-stage spur gearbox — three shafts, four gears, six bearings — each sized with a calculated, traceable margin against failure.
Professional Experience
Mar 2026 — Present
FAST-AM Lab · Northwestern University
Investigating vibration-assisted wire-laser directed energy deposition of Inconel 718 — fixture design, ANSYS Fluent multiphysics modeling, and high-speed imaging analysis, supported by a $4,500 McCormick research award.
Jan 2026 — May 2026
Tackform
Designed and revised vehicle-mounted mechanical hardware in SolidWorks — around 15 manufacturable components, applying DFMA for third-party production.
Jun 2025 — Aug 2025
CertainTeed, Saint-Gobain
Redesigned date-coder placement across four bagger lines on an automated fiberglass insulation line, cutting downtime ~5% and recovering ~$2,000/day in output.
Jun 2024 — Aug 2024
City National Bank of Florida
Used SQL, Excel, and Qlik to build workforce/cost models and validate hundreds of client records supporting forecasting and business intelligence reporting.
Jun 2023 — Aug 2023
City National Bank of Florida
Diagnosed branch performance gaps and built structured turnaround plans across operating cost, revenue, and productivity metrics.
About
I'm pursuing a combined BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University with an Aerospace Concentration. My work spans the full engineering arc — from constrained optimization and CFD to composite layup in a lab, from FEA validation in ANSYS to physical testing under realistic loading conditions.
I conduct undergraduate research in Professor Tao Sun's FAST-AM Lab, investigating vibration-assisted wire-laser directed energy deposition of Inconel 718. Outside of research, I build and fly high-power rockets with NUStars and serve as Academic Affairs Coordinator for Delta Tau Delta.
